The JLB supports community agencies and organizations in the greater Birmingham area with one-time supply drives through the Go the Extra Mile program. As opposed to Corps of Volunteers, which focuses on volunteers for special events and fundraisers,the Go the Extra Mile supply drives are one-time drives to help support nonprofits who are in need of goods or items to support their programming and activities. This program is open to all league members who wish to complete additional community service work on top of their yearly placement obligations through the support of the supply drives. For support with long-term ongoing projects over a course of weeks or months, please see “Community Placements”.
