Project Yummy, JLB’s Mobile Teaching Kitchen Program, is an exciting initiative that takes the JLB’s Kids in the Kitchen (KITK) curriculum on the road to provide instruction and guidance in healthy eating, cooking skills, and direction in selecting better food options to locations that would not typically have access to the program.
The goal of Project Yummy is to improve children’s health and wellness, specifically focusing on reversing the growing trend of childhood obesity and its associated health issues.
The Project Yummy program provides the JLB the ability to extend our KITK curriculum to locations that would otherwise not be accessible due to obstacles including:
- A lack of access to a working kitchen
- Transportation costs for schools
- The lack of true hands-on learning when a working kitchen is not available for student use.
