The Junior League of Birmingham, Alabama, Inc. is an organization of approximately 2,400 women committed to promoting voluntarism, developing the potential of women, and improving the community through the effective action and leadership of trained volunteers.

Community Impact

Family Place Library

The Family Place Library provides community-based parent-child workshops in an educational environment.  The focus is pre-reading literacy skills, health and safety for parents and caregivers of children ages one to three years.

Project Yummy

Project Yummy empowers youth to make healthy lifestyle choices and fight childhood obesity and its associated health issues. Contact Form We provide lessons and demonstrations about affordable healthy meals and snacks.

Can You Dig It?

Can You Dig? It provides children with the opportunity to learn about the science of nature with exciting learning activites at the Birmingham Botanical Gardens.

Exceptional Foundation

JLB volunteers provide meaningful social and recreational activities on a regular basis for individuals who have mental and/or physical challenges. Activities include arts and crafts, exercise, sports, cooking, gardening and dances.
